Practice History
Dr. Howard Kane attended the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine 1975 -1979 after obtaining his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Michigan. A Michigan native, Dr. Kane began private practice with Dr. Krinsky in 1981. This followed completion of two years of surgical residency at Harrison Community Hospital in Mt. Clemens, MI.
Dr. Kane has two adult children. He enjoys traveling to new places, near and far. Having been a long time runner and biker, Dr. Kane appreciates what good foot health does for the enjoyment of life. The practice name is now changed from Dr. Kane & Associates, P.C to Westland Foot & Ankle Specialists, P.C.
Dr. Nathan Krinsky founded this practice on September 21, 1960 in the city of Wayne, MI. After graduating from Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, he mentored a number of people into a career of podiatric medicine. The practice successfully grew over the years and moved to 8191 North Wayne Road, in the city of Westland, MI, in 1975. Dr. Howard Kane teamed up with Dr. Krinsky in 1981, following completion of his surgical residency of the foot and ankle at Harrison Community Hospital in Mt. Clemens, MI.
The practice continued to show growth and moved to its current residence of 35210 Nankin Boulevard in Westland, MI, in May of 1989. In 1999, with continued growth, our current office expanded to utilize the entire building. This allowed space for three more treatment rooms to be available, as well as room for the needed personnel for insurance, transcription, charting and storage purposes.
Over the years, many podiatrists have come and gone. Some were part time help and others were full time practitioners. They provided service to our patients and learned much in how a practice should function. This knowledge allowed many to move onto their own practices and they can be found coast to coast.
Following 40 years of practice, Dr. Krinsky retired in December 2000, leaving our group of Podiatric physicians. The practice name is now changed from Dr. Kane & Associates, P.C to Westland Foot & Ankle Specialists, P.C.
